Lots of crocheting today

I am making good progress on the blanket. 😀 Today I made 60-70 small white circles! (Round 1 of the hexagons) I made some yesterday as well, but most of them I crocheted today. I have a total of 99 circles, the same number of hexagons I have left.

Tomorrow I will start round 2, the round I like the best! Round 1 is the least favorite, so it’s great to have it behind me. No more round 1 for the blanket! 😀

The cough is getting better, but I started coughing bad when I cycled to town with mum early in the day. I will need to take the medicine soon before going to bed. It does seem to work, which is great, because I HATE to take oral cough medicine. Yuk!

Waiting for a documentary on Fukushima to start at 9.30 pm. Still 45 minutes to wait. But I will not crochet any more today… I will do something else instead, may be read.

Looking after the dog

Day 2 of 5 done. 🙂 My sister’s family is in the capitol this week from Monday to Friday. That means I have to look after the dog, Albin.

I have to go back and forth between the house all week. I need to spend some hours per day with the dog and at the same time I also have to spend some time with the cat, here at home…

Well, so far it’s turned out well. I will go back to the dog early tomorrow morning.

Now I am going to watch some TV. The Swedish crown princess Victoria turns 38 today and they always show her birthday celebration on TV.

I just realized that my watch stopped working while going home with the bike… Hm, the battery is probably dead. Must fix that tomorrow.

I always rely on a TV channel’s website when it comes to Formula 1. They are always right. Almost. Yesterday I checked the site and it said the third practice session started 12 a clock. So I turned on the TV 4 minutes before 12 and what do I get? I get to see the last four minutes of the third practice session! It started 11 am! Yesterday the website claimed the race starts at 3 pm. Now they’ve changed it to 2 pm… I’ll turn on the TV at 1 pm. They always have some pre-talk before the race starts, so I’ll watch that.

So, I basically just got to watch the qualifying yesterday and then the race in a few hours today. The qualifying was pretty boring. Hope the race will be more interesting.

I feel like baking something today. But I don’t know what I am going to bake. Have to check the books with all the recipes.

Mum is in Sweden again. She comes home next Sunday. She left yesterday morning. So the cat will have to be home alone several hours on Monday to Saturday next week. I am working this Saturday, so it’s a long week for me.

Fiasco for Ferrari

Damn it!! What idiot is working for Ferrari? Why didn’t they send out Kimi one more time? They could have used a set of new white tires. That would probably have been enough. But no… They calculated that the time Kimi got on his only lap was enough to get him to Q2. Only it wasn’t. Marussia’s Jules Bianchi used the yellow tires and managed to push down Kimi to P17! 😦

And people say that it’s Kimi’s fault he sucks this year? Well, it is not the driver that decides if he has to go out one more time or not. It’s the team’s decision, 100 %! Ferrari screwed up big time today! I hope they apologize to Kimi after the qualifying! How could Kimi be able to help the team get points when they are doing these kinds of basic mistakes and having issues with the car almost all the races?

No point in watching the rest of the qualifying. Don’t really care about the other drivers at the moment.

Hamilton’s car started burning pretty badly. He’s probably P21 or P22 or may be he decides to start from the pit lane. But anyway, he has the Mercedes and one week ago, he started far back too and ended up in P3… So he won’t have any problems. It’s much worse, once again, for Kimi in P17.

I’d better go wash the dishes now and after that make some dinner. But I don’t really feel like eating anything warm in this heat. May be I’ll just boil a couple of eggs (to get some salt) and eat them with a yoghurt.

I went to the grocery store across the street earlier today and it was so hot I didn’t want to be outside more than necessary. I want thunderstorms and rain now! It’s too hot, inside and out!

The electricity was gone for 15 minutes this morning. I was watching Little house on the prairie when the TV suddenly shut itself down… Thought it was something wrong with my TV (I have an “old school TV” that takes up a lot of space), but then I tried to turn on the lamp in my room. When that didn’t work either, I realized there was no electricity.

Don’t know why the electricity was gone… Luckily it came back pretty quickly, before all the stuff in the freezer started melting.

Yesterday I started making a granny square blanket. 😀 I need 300 squares. The squares are all white (not “white white”, more like “bone white” or “cream white”) on the outer edges. The other rounds are either dark green/green, dark pink/pink, orange/yellow or blue/turquoise. One square is about 8 cm x 8 cm, so the blanket will be something around 120 x 160. But then I need a border around that too, so may be a few more centimeters. I need 75 squares of each color.

I really couldn’t make a granny square blanket where the colors are totally random. Like one square could have pink, black, dark green and white, while another square might be yellow, grey, orange and turquoise. No, never! I have to make the squares the same colors! Last time I had squares that where red/pink and blue/turquoise. This time I’m choosing four color pairs, so it will be more colorful this time. But I put four squares next to each other and I like the color combinations. 🙂

I actually made may be 10 squares a pretty long time ago, but for some reason I never continued past the 10 squares. I guess I didn’t like how the squares turned out to be. These new squares I like much better and I know I will finish the blanket this time. But I’ll save the other squares in case I decide sometime in the distant future that I want to continue with them.

I use the same yarn as the previous granny square blanket. Don’t remember how big that turned out to be.

Yesterday (and previous days too), I have gone out cycling like 9 or 10 pm. I have a route that takes 45-55 minutes, depending on how fast or slow I go. The horrible heat is gone by that time and it’s pretty nice to cycle when there’s a cool breeze. There’s a lot of people out cycling or walking or just sitting in the grass or on benches at that time. I guess we are all tired of the high temperatures.

Well, the qualifying is over now… Better go wash the dishes now. I hope the media reporters aren’t too hard with Kimi today… It really wasn’t his fault. They should jump at Ferrari instead. 😦

Nothing much going on

Nothing much going on

Nothing much is going on these days.

I just made strawberry quark so I am going to enjoy that in a little while, when I’m going to watch some TV.

Have been reading quite a lot these last days. I will finish one book before going to bed tonight.

The cat is bugging me… Although he looks very cute in the picture there. 😉 If I have the door closed to my room he will sit outside and scratch his paws on it until I open it. But he doesn’t come into my room (not all the time). He will just lay down outside the room and if I close the door again… Yep, he is soon there scratching on it so that I will open it… Weird old cat!

It’s been pretty warm and sunny today, but at the same time a bit chilly too in the wind.

Pretty warm today

Pretty warm today

Sometimes the cat acts more like a young cat than the old one he is. 😉 I don’t know what he was doing with the towel that he likes to sleep on. He was attacking it and tried to crawl under it or inside it. Crazy cat!

It’s pretty warm today and once again all snow is gone. I really hope there won’t be any more snowy days this spring. Now it should stay like this so it can become summer.

I need to read three more books before the month is over… May be I can do it. Still a few more days. But I have to read thin books. I don’t have time to read three thick books. Today I finished reading John Grisham’s “Theodore Boone: The Abduction”. It was very good. I have all the other T.B. books too, but have read only the first, and now the second. Two more T.B. books to read. I am sure I will be able to finish another T.B. book before the month is over.

But now I have to take a shower, before I start reading again. Tonight I am going to watch a TV show called “Kadonneen jäljillä”, a Finnish TV series where they are looking for people that are missing. Usually it is a person looking for his/her biological mother or father or other siblings. Always interesting to see when they are traveling the world looking for people. Usually emotional too in the end if they find a mum or dad that they haven’t seen in 30 years or more.

I wanna be a cat in my next life! A cat living indoor… Niki loves mum’s new bed. 🙂 He looked so relaxed and cuddly today when he was lying on the bed. (Those teddybears in the background are toys for the children that mum takes care of during the day…)

Today it was – 14 C, and the sun was shining from a clear blue sky! 😀 There’s a few centimeters of snow on the ground.

I wore plenty of clothes when I walked to the library and some supermarket, so I was only cold in my face. Everything else was warm.

At the moment I am a freezing a little.

Going to watch “The Farm” tonight on a Swedish TV channel. It’s a reality show where 12 people are living in a farm, far away from other people. They have no electricity, living pretty much as they did 100 years ago. They get farm animals and work that they have to do. Once a week two people duel and the loser has to leave the farm. The winner stays on the farm. The new season starts tonight and I think they are going to have it Monday-Friday.

Might have to take a shower soon. My hands are pretty cold. But first some dinner. Don’t know what I am going to eat yet, we’ll see…
