Got my glasses yesterday!

I have had a pretty bad cold several days (almost all the week). But I was called to come and work on Monday and Thursday. So I did that.

I missed the last Italian lesson… Oh well. I have the school book, so I can read it myself.

Yesterday after work I went to pick up my glasses and sunglasses. 🙂 I have not had a chance to try my sunglasses yet, because there is no sun… Right now lots of snow comes down from the sky! The winter came back!

I’ll bake some muffins after dinner and tonight I will watch a movie that I have borrowed from the library.

Hotel Transylvania

I watched both the movies today! 😀 Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2. I have borrowed them from the library, but the second part is reserved, so I have to take them back to the library tomorrow. Both were good and funny, but I liked the first better.

I have done a lot of crocheting on the African flowers today. 🙂 I think I have completed around 40 so far.

I am tired, so I’ll go to bed now. It’s already past 10 pm.

I have just watched Eddie the Eagle on DVD. I really love that movie and I hope I will find it in a store so I can watch it over and over again. Sadly the store where I got my DVDs have filed for bankruptcy and the stores are closing down, as I have written before.

No rain today. 🙂 Just some dark clouds, that didn’t produce any rain. And the clouds moved away later in the day.

There’s a place where adults can take classes in lots of different subjects during the year. Each year they give out a catalogue with lots of different classes that they offer. There’s one school in Swedish and one school in Finnish. I have been looking through the catalogue and I found a couple of classes to take this year. Well, they both continue into the spring as well.

One class I will take is about beading, beadwork, whatever you want to call it. Making bracelets, necklaces and other things will small beads. That’s gonna be fun! 😀 I have made bracelets etc in the past, and quite recently, but I will be doing a lot of beading this autumn/winter/spring. Can’t wait to try some of the things I’ve found on Pinterest! The beading class starts September 23rd and will have classes every second Friday.

The second class I am also exited about, of course. Otherwise I wouldn’t take it. It’s Italian for beginners! 😀 The teacher is an Italian and the class will be in Italian/English. I know a few words of Italian but I want to learn more, and I want to learn how to make sentences. Italian is a beautiful language! 🙂 The class starts September 6th and will be every Tuesday.

They also have this thing called a knitting café, where you can take your knitting/crocheting project and work on it while drinking coffee etc. You can go once or every week, or just a few times. I will go September 5th and see how it is. If I like it, I’ll go several times.

Well, I am happy the Olympics are over soon! I have been waking up in the middle of the night several times recently to watch some of the events. This night will be the last event I want to see, the javelin for men. Just one Finn competing in the final, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for him. The Olympics have been kind of a fiasco for Finland. Only one bronze medal so far. If Antti Ruuskanen succeeds there might be another medal coming tonight, but I doubt it. I guess I’ll watch the ending ceremony as well. That’s one more night of watching TV…

I do have something to keep me occupied so I don’t fall asleep, though. I am crocheting African Flowers! 😀 I am going to make a blanket using 257 of them! Just started a couple of days ago and have 9 flowers I think. Today I went through my yarns and picked out four color combinations. I’ll show a picture of them tomorrow.

I’d better go to bed now and have the alarm clock waking me up a little before 3 am…

Buena Notte! 😉

Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Last night I went to the Finnish theater in town and watched the dress rehearsals of Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf. They always have cheaper tickets on the dress rehearsal even if it is like a regular showing. The premiere was tonight. The play (with the coffee break included) takes 2,5 hours, so it’s pretty long.

The play was really good. I had of course heard about the movie and the play, but I had never read or seen it. Now I have the book in English and I will get the movie in a couple of weeks, because I made a reservation for it at the library.

The cat loves to sleep on the couch at night. Usually he lays down next to mum when she’s watching TV. But when he wants to stretch himself out he always go to the other part of the couch. (The couch is L-shaped).

Better go to bed now. Luckily my cold is almost gone. I just got a very mild version of it. 🙂

No Internet

It’s so frustrating when the Internet is not working. 😦 I am writing in the library now.

I don’t know what’s wrong with the Internet. But I can not use it at home. It went away Sunday evening around 7 pm! I called the company Monday afternoon. They promised to tell some one else, who is supposed to call me, either when he has fixed it somewhere else, or if he needs to come to the apartment. No one called today and the Internet is still not working. I can not open a single site… And I can’t sit in the house all day waiting for a phone call that don’t seem to come.

It would be okay if they called and said that they are coming on Thursday at 2 pm or something like that. Then I could plan my days and go somewhere, knowing that they will come at that specific day and time. But I don’t know when they are calling. And I think they only have the phone number to the telephone that has a cord to the wall. So I must be home when they are calling. They probably don’t have the mobile phone number. I waited and waited. When nobody had called me at 4 pm I decided they are going to let me wait until tomorrow, so I came to the library. I need to go to the grocery store too.

If no one has called me before 1 pm tomorrow I am calling the company again to ask them why it takes such a long time… They can’t have that many customers who need their Internet fixed!

It started raining when I came into the town. But it’s okay. It’s just water. No heavy rain. Just pretty light rain. I’ll change my clothes when I go home.

No postcards in the mail today. Yesterday I got two, so that was fun! 🙂 There are still four cards travelling to me at the moment. So we’ll see tomorrow if I get any. May be some are lost. I sent two postcards 19 days ago and they still have not reached their destinations, so I am sceptical about those two cards.

I think I will go home now and watch something on DVD.

Hunger games

If I could turn the time forward 24 hours… Then it would only be a few hours left until the first free practice session in Australia. But it’s still the whole Thursday left! :/

Yesterday I watched “Hunger Games: Mockingjay, part 1” on a DVD that I rented from the DVD rental shop. They had a special offer yesterday and all the movies were just 1 euro to rent. 🙂 But it was a little difficult to understand the movie because I have not read the book and it was a pretty long time since I watched Catching Fire, so I didn’t really understand what it was all about. Not as good as the two previous movies. But I guess I will watch the second part in cinema whenever it comes out in cinemas. I had not watched the first part in cinema, so yesterday was the first time I watched the movie.

I have started to read the first Hunger games book in English. I have them all in Swedish (it’s a thick book with all three books in one volume), but I want to read them in English now. I think I read the first one in Swedish, but not the second or third one. So it will be fun to read the two other books too when I am done with the first one.

Yesterday my nephew Alec came for a visit with my brother and they had one of the dogs with them too! Little Nero, the smaller one. Aw, Nero is so cute! He is already 7 years. I haven’t seen Nero since Christmas, so it was great to see the little dog again. And I think he was happy to see us too! 🙂 He behaved really well! No barking. He was just a little scared going with the elevator. I was at the DVD rental shop when they came, so I got a nice surprise when I opened the door at home and Nero came running towards me! 😀

I’m going to bed now. I hope Thursday will fly by but usually when you are waiting for something it feels like the time is slowing down…

Hair cut

I had a day off from work today! 😀 Because I worked last Saturday. Went and got myself a hair cut among other things. The hairdresser took about 13 centimeters. I can still have the hair in a pony tail.

I really liked watching “The Butler” on DVD tonight. 🙂 I borrowed it and other movies from the library the other day.

Still no TLC. 😦 But the company that sells the TV channels are innocent. Discovery in the US needs to do something with a signal in order for the channel to show up again. I really didn’t understand much of what the salesperson said…

Last night I went to the cinema! 🙂 I watched a Swedish-Finnish movie called “Vadelmavenepakolainen” in Finnish, “Hallonbåtsflyktingen” in Swedish. It was pretty funny! 🙂 They talked both Finnish and Swedish throughout the movie.

They talked about a snowstorm coming tonight! 😦 Strong winds and snow tomorrow. No fun at all… I am sure I’ll take the bus to work.

About the picture of the cat in the bed… Well, I just thought I’d put a picture of him today. 🙂

Going to read a little before going to bed.
