Happy Easter!

Happy Easter if you are celebrating Easter! πŸ˜€

This is a closeup of my Easter grass. In Finland (and other countries too I guess) it is a tradition to grow grass on a plate or little box. Then you put little chickens in the grass as decoration. I also put some small chocolate eggs in the grass. πŸ™‚

The grass grows pretty quickly, so you have to cut it several times with scissors. Otherwise the chickens/chocolate eggs will disappear among the high grass! πŸ˜‰

I will eat the little chocolate eggs when I put away the Easter decorations next week.

Here is a picture of a chicken I crocheted freehand (using no instructions) yesterday and today.

Well, it’s late. So Happy Easter once again! πŸ™‚

Market

My coughing is worse today and the throat hurts when I cough too much or sneeze… My voice is not normal. But the nose is slightly better today and I am not as tired as I was yesterday.

I went to a sports center called “Botniahallen” where they had a big market. The bus (which went non stop between the sports center and the town) was free. It took a couple of hours to walk around and look at everything. Bought some books, got a few free magazines, candies and things like that. A canvas bag for free too. πŸ™‚ Wrote my name on several lottery tickets, but I have never won anything on those lottery tickets that they have on markets. So I am not expecting to win anything.

As yesterday, pretty sunny but cold.Β

Waiting for the chicken legs that are in the oven. Soon they are ready.

Going to read after dinner. Hopefully I can finish a book later tonight.

I might watch “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” on TV tonight, but I am not sure. It starts pretty late, at 10.30 pm I think.Β

Walking, walking

Now I am going to rest my legs the rest of the day. Enough walking around with mum trying to find X-mas gifts to people… Over two hours we were out walking to a big shop. and when we got there she couldn’t decide what to buy. And I was thinking, “COME ON! My legs are killing me!”

When we got home the cat was complaining about a certain brand of cat food that it refused to eat. 😦 So I ended up going to the store across the street to buy some cat food. Now the cat is snoring on the couch.

In the morning we managed to glue the gingerbread house together with icing. πŸ™‚ But mum made the icing to runny first and I had to put some more icing sugar in it. It was pretty difficult this year. Once we thought the icing had dried but then we let go, and the whole house was almost falling apart. 😦 So, more icing and a little more patience… But I was close to throwing the chimney in the garbage bag, because it didn’t want to cooperate.Β

Thankfully we finally got it.

Dinner is in the oven now. Chicken.

After that I have school stuff to do. Oh why can’t that school stuff be over with already?!

Swedish Day!

Today is the Swedish Day in Finland! πŸ˜€ Basically it’s a day for us Swedish speaking Finns. Nothing really to celebrate, but at least the flags are up! πŸ™‚Β

Rain this morning, but now it has been dry most of the day. It’s cloudy and cold. But no rain.Β

It’s so frustrating when you want to eat a certain food. And then the two local grocery stores do not have it! 😦 I know I should have taken the bicycle straight to the supermarket. But then it would have been pretty late. I wanted a kind of chicken, and they usually have it. I guess they will get some tomorrow. But I wanted it today…Now I have to eat spaghetti and minced meat sauce, which is okay.

Going to finish a Christmas card tonight. It’s nothing that screams Christmas, but they are still cute. It’s the free kit that came with the latest issue of CrossStitcher. A deer, a rabbit and a robin. They have small bells and green bows too that you can attach. I have made two and started on the third, which I will finish while I watch Efterlyst late tonight.Β

Thunder storm and lightnings

There was a real nice thunder storm earlier in the day. πŸ˜€ Some heavy rain too. Now it’s just cloudy.

I feel like going to the cinema tonight! πŸ™‚ But I have to wait and see if the rain comes back. I hope not. I want to see “3096 days” which is obviously the movie about what happened to Natascha Kampusch.

There are two more movies to watch this autumn. In the beginning of September comes the second Smurfs-movie! And in the middle of September comes the Rush-movie about F1 stars Niki Lauda and James Hunt.

Yesterday I finished the Christmas card. πŸ™‚ Once I had unpicked the wrong shade of blue, I quickly finished the card. And although I had to throw lots of blue thread away, there was still enough thread to finish the card. I didn’t have to dig through my left over threads in search of the same shade. πŸ™‚

Now iI am going to make some dinner, chicken and rice. Then I will see how the weather is, if I go to the cinema or let it be until the weekend.

Princess wedding! :D

Looking forward to watching the princess wedding in a few hours! πŸ˜€ Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill are getting married today. πŸ™‚ Congratulations to both!

Very interesting to see the wedding dress from Valentino Garavani. Also waiting to see the flowers. Apparently they will use a lot of pink flowers.

Before that I am going to eat chicken and rice.

A pretty warm day. Ate an ice cream on the market square, with mum, grand mum and Alec. Then we went to grand mum’s apartment, which is very close to the market square. Mum is there almost every Saturday. I usually don’t go, but today I went there too.

Formula 1 in Canada this weekend… Hope it’s sunny rather than rainy. Don’t think I’m going to watch the free practice this afternoon because of the wedding. But I’m sure I’ll watch the qualifying when ever that comes. Around 9 pm I think.

School work :(

I am melting into a pool of water… 😦

I went to the library and the supermarket earlier today, came home with sweat running down the face and the back. Took a cool shower, which was heavenly nice (!). In the afternoon I had to go to the local grocery store, because I had forgot something. I just got back. Same thing, sweating like a pig… I don’t know what temperature it is. A lot!

And now I have to finish the school work. 😦 It’s time consuming. I pretty much know what I’ll write, but it takes time to write. When I’ve finished the school work I have “summer holiday” until September! πŸ˜€

Soon I have to put the chicken legs in the oven. Well, I just did it. 50 minutes. Then I can eat them with rice and curry sauce. Yummy!

Before that I am longing for a large glass of ice cold water! But I don’t know if we have any ice cubes in the freezer. Don’t think so. 😦 Must check anyway.

I got five scissors in the mail today! πŸ˜€ The package was too wide for the mail slot, so the mailman rang on the doorbell. πŸ™‚ That was kind of him! I am a member of a club for people who likes embroidery. Every second month you get a little brochure which you can order from. Usually it’s embroideries, but they also have threads, fabrics and other things. This time I ordered the scissors, because you are not suppose to cut paper with embroidery scissors for example. They get unsharp if you mix the materials. The scissors will not cut the thread as good if you have cut paper with them too. Which is exactly what I did. 😦 So now, I am going to make small tags for the scissors, so I know what to use them for. One for embroidery thread, one for paper, one for fabrics, one for plastic and may be one for cardboard paper.

Well, enough of this! I have to get back to the school stuff. 😦 One more day, then I can relax and don’t think about education for months! πŸ˜€

UPDATE: I’m done! πŸ˜€ And I returned the school books to the library. I don’t want to look at any school books for a long time now!

It’s cloudy now and much cooler. I thought it would start raining, but so far no rain. May be later in the evening.
