Today I started to knit a pair of socks for my niece. 🙂 Mum started to knit a pair for one of my nephews, my sister’s middle child. No surprise who will knit faster. I have never finished a pair of socks… Mum has made several pairs. This time I will try, but I am sure I am going to have problems knitting the heel. We’ll see. Maybe I will watch some Youtube videos about knitting socks. It’s weird that my 10 year old niece has nearly my shoe size! She has 34, I have 35. My thirteen year old nephew (who will get mum’s knitted socks) has a 37, but boys have bigger feet, so no surprise there.
So fun that Kimi Raikkonen finished the Formula 1 season with a podium finish! 😀 Several months until the next race… 😦
I am watching a movie on TV. But it’s irritating that they have the news in the middle of the movie, so there is a gap of 15-20 minutes or more. I am writing this as I wait for the movie to continue. I knit the sock while I watch the movie. It’s a great way to keep me awake. If I didn’t knit or do anything else I would probably fall asleep.
The last week or so I have been searching the photo albums in the house for pictures of the cats. I have had three cats, Niki included. I had no pictures of Niki as a kitten on the computer, because we didn’t have a digital camera when he was born. I am not even sure anyone had a digital camera 15 years ago.
Anyway, I have now scanned a lot of the pictures of the three cats and today I created a photo book! 😀 My fourth photo book! I haven’t ordered it yet, because I need to go through it again and correct any misspellings.
Time to continue watching the movie and knit a sock! 😀
The first snow for the season came yesterday! 😀 And a lot of it! It has continued snowing lots today too. The first picture is from last night and the rest of them are from today.
I was working in my “old” library yesterday and I took the bicycle to the market square. I left it there and took the bus to the library. When I came back to the market square in the afternoon my bike looked pretty much like the bikes in the last picture! 🙂
Lots of swans (30-40) in the little pond. They were shouting loudly and wanted to get away from the snow. I think they will start flying south soon, or where ever they go during the winter.
They are expecting +4 C on Tuesday (don’t know if that’s true yet) so this snow will probably go away soon. But it’s fun while it lasts and beautiful as well. I much rather have snow than the dull, rainy, grey November days that has been.
Tonight I decided to go to the cinema. I made up my mind pretty late, because it was so rainy and cold earlier in the day and dark as well. The sun goes down early in the afternoon these days. But I made it in time to the cinema before the movie started.
I watched “The Walk” based on a true story, about a French guy walking on a wire between the WTC twin towers. It was really thrilling and funny too. So I am happy that I went to the cinema.
The number of people watching the movie tonight: 1! I was all alone in the cinema! Well, others were watching the James Bond movie in the room next door (I could hear a little from the film while I waited for a guy to let me in), but no one else wanted to watch The Walk. It was kind of fun being alone. No one was bugging me with whispers or opening plastic bags with candies or eating chips.
I will see if I can find the book that the French guy wrote about his adventure. But I don’t think it is in the library. Maybe online. I will for sure search the internet to read about the real guy that walked from one tower to the other.
No rain in the evening, so I was dry when I came home, just in time to watch the final episode for the season of the Swedish Hollywood wives. 🙂 The seasons are always so short though. They could have longer seasons with more episodes.
Better get to bed now. It’s getting late.
Here are pictures of the doll I crocheted for my niece Wilma. The designer is Mia Bengtsson, a Swedish woman. She has three books about amigurumis and a fourth where she has her favorites from the three volumes in one book. The book has descriptions for the doll, the winter hat and the scarf. I made the the other clothes myself, without patterns. The leg warmers are knitted, the others crocheted.
The doll has a big head and big feet, so I had to make a vest which is fastened with velcro (?) in the back. The trousers had to be wide to fit over the feet.
My sister-in-law wanted me to crochet two more of these for her brother’s daughters. I have made one already, a pale blue (same color as the trousers) with light purple/peach scarf and winter hat. The other one is green with the orange-red/peach clothes. I stitched the eyes with black yarn, because the girls are small and can remove the googly eyes that I put for Wilma’s doll. The green guy still needs a leg, two arms and the clothes before I can stitch the parts together.
Random pictures of the cat since the computer broke down. He likes sleeping in the closet in his own little transport box. As I was taking pictures of him he woke up and yawned just as the camera took a picture. He looks stupid with his tongue out! 😀 We have a pink towel in the box to make it more comfortable for him.
The third picture is a blanket he got on his birthday in March. It’s blue on one side and beige on the other side. Back then he didn’t want to sleep on it, so I put it away for months. Now he has it on the floor in the living room and he really likes it now. Especially he likes to crawl under it so only the head or a leg or the tail is showing! 🙂
In the fourth picture mum was packing to go to Sweden for a week. The cat wanted to come with her. 😉 But he couldn’t go…
Outside it’s cold, dark and rainy. I am waiting for the snow, but it doesn’t seem to come… Snow is more fun than rain.
Last night I watched live on Internet when Daniel Radcliffe got his Walk of Fame star! 😀 I have started to get used to seeing him without hair, but I hope he lets his hair grow out now. He seemed very happy last night. 🙂
Another Formula 1 weekend. But I am not so interested anymore. It’s just the same ones on the podium. Kimi has had some really awful luck in the past races. I really hope he will have good luck this weekend.
A few days ago I ordered next years wall calendar. 12 pictures of the cat! 😀 (Well, 13 pictures with the cover too). They have already made it and it’s on it’s way. Hopefully it arrives soon. The post offices might start striking next week.
Soon I’ll have to go out into the dark cold rainy weather to go to work.
How fun that it’s Friday today! 🙂
Today when I got home from work, my brother had installed a new computer! 😀 The old one could not be repaired. But he was able to save all 5000+ photos and move them to the new one. 🙂 So finally I can start blogging her more often than I have in the past weeks. The mouse and the keyboard are the same as before and also the printer of course. My brother had an old screen which we could have for free. The computer (a little box) he got ordered from a store last week.
I will also upload pictures in the next few days. Not tonight. It’s 10 pm and I need to sleep soon.
A rainy day today.
