Waiting for the oven to heat up. Going to eat some french fries and chicken meatballs before going back to the dog.
The ice hockey game between Finland and Russia starts in 40 minutes, but I won’t make it to the dog’s house in time for that. I suppose I will have time to watch the last 40 minutes of the game at least.
Got some new mats today, one for the living room, one for the bathroom and one in the hall. But the living room mat is still rolled up, so I don’t really know what it looks like. Something in brown and white.
The dog woke me up at 4.30 this morning. 😦 I said I am NOT going out at that time of night. He went back to sleep and woke me up at 6 am instead. So that’s when I got dressed and went out for a walk in the forest… I didn’t get to sleep until midnight last night, so it was a little bit of short night. Only six hours of sleep.
He has to eat some dry dog food in the morning. But refuses to eat them when they are in the bowl. He does eat them, when I cup my hands and have a bunch of them in my hands… He ate a lot of the dry food from my hands. Well, at least he is eating them. But I got dog drool all over my hands and the hands smell of dog food as well. Yuck!
Today is officially the end of the summer cottage season. That means people are allowed to fire some fireworks in the evening. Only they are not allowed to do that tonight because the grounds are so dry. There have not been rain for quite some time. Don’t think that’s going to stop some people though. I hope the police keep watch and stop the people who are using fireworks tonight. The once that have already bought some can keep them for new year’s eve.
Well, the food is ready now. So I’ll eat and then I’ll go back to the dog and watch whatever is left of the ice hockey game.
Ok, so I finally got hold of the camera so I could take a picture of the things I have been doing the last few weeks.
Miniature books! 26 in total. The books are 2,5 x 3,2 centimeters. But the pages themselves are 2,2 x 2,9 centimeters.
Now I just need to write something in them. 🙂 Good for me I have a tiny handwriting when I need it. But I don’t think I have room for many words on each page…
It was fun going through my old scrapbooking materials and choosing papers for the covers.
The most difficult thing was to sew the pages. But after some books it got easier to do it. There are a total of 58 stitches per book if I remember correctly.
Instructions how to make the books can be found in a book called “Microcrafts. Tiny treasures to make and share”. It’s from 2011, edited by Margaret McGuire and others.
The books were supposed to have a belt too around them, made of a thin strip of paper. But I decided not to make those belts.
So happy this day is over… 8 times I went somewhere with the bike today! 3 times I had to take the dog out for a walk.
I really hope mum comes home tomorrow so I don’t have to do the same tomorrow… I might still have to come home tomorrow at some point, but I certainly don’t need to go somewhere eight times.
I really enjoyed watching the theater. But apparently it was longer than it should have been. Don’t know when it was supposed to have ended, but it ended close to 9 pm. Before I had cycled to the dog it was close to 10 pm.
Better go to bed now. I guess I’ll have to go to the dog around 6.30 am just as I did today.
It’s going to be a LONG day! I went to the dog at 6.30 am today and was there a few hours. I cross stitched a little. Then after 9 am I went to the supermarket and now I am home. But around 12 I’ll go back to the dog. Around 4 pm I’m coming back home. Then around 6 pm I’m going to town, to the theater. From the theater I’ll go to the dog’s house and around 10 pm I’ll come home and sleep another night at home.
So it’s a lot of cycling back and forth! 🙂
I still need to pack a bag to take with me… I only have the cross stitching there now.
Mum called last night and said she and her friend from Sweden are staying one more night at Suomussalmi. 😦 That’s why I have to cycle so much here and there. It would have been better if they had come home today, so I wouldn’t have to spend some time with the cat as well. So the dog will have to sleep alone one more night. But I don’t think he minds. He was very happy to see me early in the morning.
The reason why I am going to the theater tonight is because they are having the opening of the season, starting at 7 pm. They’ll show small bits (5-10 minutes) of the plays they are going to have during the autumn. Between that they will have some music and interviews with different people. I always go there to watch the opening of the season. It shouldn’t take more than an hour, I think.
Got a text message from my sis. Turns out today is going to be the warmest day of the year in Turkey, +45 degrees Celsius!! Jeez. I hope they don’t burn themselves too much in the sun. They didn’t get to the hotel until 3 am because they had a pretty long bus trip from the airport.
I’d better pack that bag now before I forget.
I just finished my crafty project that I have been doing the last couple of weeks. 😀 Well, part one, because I still have some work on it. I’ll probably post a picture tomorrow or on Friday. It depends on when mum is coming home with the camera. And I have to go to the theater tomorrow night as well.
It’s getting late, but I still have to go to the dog… I guess my sister’s family is in Turkey now, unless they are still on the airplane. Not sure how many hours it takes. Shouldn’t take so many hours, looking at the map of Europe. But I don’t know what city they are going to. Probably one of those tourist towns with lots of hotels and beaches.
I’d really like to do some more cross stitching tonight. I’ll see how I feel when I get back home. May be I should go to bed early, because I suspect I have to go back to the dog early in the morning, may be around 6 or 7 am.
I have done quite a lot of cross stitching on the table cloth. 😀 But still much more to go. Today I also framed the other kits that I finished last week.
But mum has the camera, so I can not take any pictures of them yet.
I watched the Polar Music Prize ceremony today. But as usual I don’t know the people who got them. Rarely do I recognize the names of the winners. Happy though that a Finnish woman got it this year. 🙂
Two hours until one of my favorite TV-shows. “Swedish Hollywood wives”. 😀 They are so funny! And a bit crazy… 😉
Baked a mud cake today! 😀 May be a little bit too “muddy” but still very yummy!
I have spend a few hours now in the evening working on my other crafty project. When I am done, I’ll post a picture. But it’s going to take a while.
Tomorrow my sister’s family is going to Turkey. My brother-in-law turns 40 on Friday. They will be there a week. That of course means I will have to sleep a week on the couch at my sister’s house, looking after the dog.
But, mum comes home from Suomussalmi on Thursday. That means either my cat or my sister’s dog will have to spend the night alone. Because I can not be in two places at once! 😉 I think it will be the dog who will spend the night alone. My cat is 13 years old and I don’t think he has ever been alone one night. I have to go and take the dog out late at night, go home and go back early in the morning. I’m sure he’ll be alright.
A bit tired. I might take a nap now and have the alarm clock waking me up in an hour.
Two of the three cross stitching kits I got the other day are done! 😀 Three small pictures with Santas and one little wintery scene. I just need to frame them.
Now I’ve begun on the third kit. It’s a table cloth, so it’s going to take several weeks to stitch… So far all I have done is a little heart in the middle. 🙂 A LOT more to stitch on the table cloth. 😉
Nothing interesting on TV tonight. May be I’ll watch some DVD. Don’t really want to go to bed already.
Mum and the Swedish man left the house today. They went to a little town in the north of Finland. Suomussalmi, home of Finnish F1 driver (well, nowadays test driver) Heikki Kovalainen! 😀 The Swedish man is from that town and they have a summer cottage there. Wonder if they will meet any reindeers on the streets…
Mum is “running away” from her 60th birthday, which is tomorrow. She doesn’t want to celebrate it. They will come back from Suomussalmi on Thursday next week.
